IT Second Opinion

£149 Fixed price for a normal review

Before you sign an IT quote, proposal, renewal or support contract, send it to LocalNetworks for an independent commercial and technical sense-check.

Send me your IT quote

One proposal, clear questions and a short written summary. Unusually large or complex proposals may need separate agreement.

A practical second opinion

Understand what you are being asked to buy.

A proposal can look convincing without making clear what your business actually needs. I review the documents and business context you provide, looking at what seems sensible, what needs clarification and what is worth challenging before you commit.

If a quote includes unnecessary hardware, duplicated licensing or services, or an over-specced solution, a review can pay for itself. Savings are not guaranteed: a useful outcome may simply be greater confidence in a sensible proposal.

The aim is to help you make an informed decision and ask better questions of your supplier, without assuming that the supplier or existing equipment needs replacing.

What can I send?

Quotes, proposals and renewals across everyday business IT.

  • MSP / IT support proposals, contracts and renewals
  • Firewalls and security appliance renewals
  • Business Wi-Fi and network proposals
  • Broadband, leased line and connectivity quotes
  • Microsoft 365 licensing and related services
  • Servers, cloud and infrastructure proposals
  • Backup solutions
  • Hardware replacement proposals
  • General IT infrastructure quotes

What you receive for £149

A short written review you can act on.

  • A review of what is being proposed
  • Identification of obvious unnecessary or excessive items
  • Areas that appear expensive or worth challenging
  • Missing items or risks worth asking about
  • Questions to put back to the supplier
  • Alternative approaches worth considering
  • A short written summary of the review

Comments on cost reflect the information available; this is not a full market tender or a promise to find the cheapest supplier.

A clear scope

Focused enough to be useful.

The £149 fixed price covers one normal review of a single proposal or renewal and its supporting documents, based on the information you provide. I confirm that it fits this service and agree delivery arrangements before starting. Further proposals, revised quotes or additional investigation can be agreed separately.

This is a commercial and technical sense-check, not a full technical audit, penetration test, formal compliance assessment or implementation service. It does not include a meeting, phone call, detailed implementation plan or hands-on testing, and it cannot guarantee that every issue will be found.

Unusually large, highly specialist, security or regulatory-heavy, or software-development-specific proposals may need a separately scoped review. If a proposal falls outside my expertise, I may decline it. Checking this first keeps the £149 service clear and useful.

How to start

Send me your IT quote.

  1. Use the enquiry form to say what the proposal covers, its approximate value and any signing or renewal deadline.
  2. I will confirm whether it fits the £149 review and arrange how to share the proposal and relevant business context by email.
  3. Once scope and delivery are agreed, I will review it and send a short written summary.

The form accepts text enquiries. Please do not include passwords or sensitive records; document sharing is arranged after your enquiry.
